Every year, thousands of girls miss school because they lack access to basic menstrual hygiene products. This absence affects their education, confidence, and future opportunities. The Keyang Tipin Care for Girls Foundation is stepping up to change this reality with its 2026 Virtual Pad Drive. Our goal is to provide a year’s supply of sanitary pads to girls at Cheposekek High School and partner schools by raising enough funds to supply 2,500 pads this year. Last year, we raised over $1,200, which made a significant difference, but this year we want to double our impact and keep even more girls in school.

Understanding Period Poverty and Its Impact on Girls’ Education
Period poverty refers to the lack of access to sanitary products, menstrual hygiene education, toilets, handwashing facilities, and waste management. For many girls, especially in low-income or rural areas, this means missing school during their periods or dropping out entirely.
In West Pokot County, Kenya, many girls face this challenge. Without access to pads, they either stay home or use unsafe alternatives, which can lead to infections and discomfort. Missing school days adds up, affecting their academic performance and self-esteem. The Keyang Tipin Care for Girls Foundation aims to eliminate this barrier by providing reliable access to sanitary pads.
Why The 2026 Virtual Pad Drive Matters
The Virtual Pad Drive is a fundraising campaign designed to reach supporters worldwide. By participating, donors help provide a full year’s supply of pads to girls who need them most. Here’s why this drive is crucial:
Keeps girls in school: Access to pads means girls don’t have to miss classes during their periods.
Improves health: Using proper sanitary products reduces the risk of infections.
Boosts confidence: Girls feel more comfortable and confident attending school.
Supports equality: Education is a right, and this drive helps level the playing field.
