CARE FOR GIRLS
WHEN YOU INVEST IN A GIRL’S EDUCATION, YOU INVEST IN THE WHOLE COMMUNITY FOR GIRLS

“My parents refused to pay for my fees because I am a girl child. They decided to marry me off to an old man. I ran away and took refuge at my uncles. My uncle decided to take me to Cheposekek Girls High School.”

Who We Are
We are an organization that is devoted to creating positive change in the lives of Pokot girls through access to education, sanitary pads and mentorship program. We envision a community where girls have the freedom to make decisions about their bodies, have access to education, sanitary pads and grow up in a safe environment with
resources to help them prosper.
What We Do
Our work began in Cheposekek, West Pokot County. An area where girls are at risk of early marriages and FGM/C. Harmful practices like FGM/C continue to impair the health, well-being, and future of girls and women. One of the biggest barriers to Pokot girls’ education is the lack of financing for programs that actively support their education journeys and opportunities for finishing basic education. We tackle FGM/C, early marriages and GBV through education. We provide full tuition for 12 highschool girls while also mentoring. This program has influenced girls in the community to attend school. For the first time we had the biggest 9th grade class enrollment.
Let’s Fight Period Poverty Together
In Kenya, 65% of women and girls are unable to afford sanitary pads. A study found that 95% of menstruating girls misses 1 to 3 school days. We believe that no girl child should miss school due to lack of pads. We provide a year supply of pads to all the girls at Cheposekek Highschool. Join us in fighting period poverty, one pad at a time. Our in person Pad drive will be in May in Kapenguria. This is a great chance to learn more on on the current state of menstrual health in the country and globally.
ACCESS to SANITARY PADS is a RIGHT and NOT a PRIVILEGE
Thank you !
