Menstrual Health Day: A Day of Empowerment and Education in Chepnyal
On Menstrual Health Day, the Keyang Tipin field team, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MOH) and UNICEF of West Pokot County, embarked on a heartfelt mission to Chepnyal. This significant day was dedicated to raising awareness and fostering a supportive environment for menstrual health education. Our team, alongside MOH and UNICEF representatives, distributed menstrual pads to high school girls in Chepnyal. This effort aimed to ensure that these young girls have access to the necessary sanitary products, helping them to manage their menstrual health with dignity and confidence. The donations are an impactful step towards addressing period poverty and promoting gender equality in education.
High school girls from nearby schools, many of whom walked long distances to participate, filled the day with joy and celebration. They danced, sang beautiful songs about the importance of caring for girls, and shared their stories. Their performances and enthusiasm highlighted the significance of menstrual health and the supportive role of the community. Listening to their songs and seeing their joy was a powerful reminder of the resilience and strength of these young girls.
Keyang Tipin is committed to continuing its efforts in menstrual health education and support. Collaborations with organizations like MOH and UNICEF enable us to reach more communities and make a meaningful impact. We believe that by educating and supporting young girls, we are paving the way for a brighter, healthier future for all.
As we reflect on the success of Menstrual Health Day in Chepnyal, we are inspired to keep pushing forward. Our mission is to create a world where every girl has the knowledge, resources, and support she needs to thrive. Thank you to all our supporters for making this day a success. Together, we are making a difference.
Keyang Tipin Foundation Pad Drive June 1, 2024
On Saturday, June 1st, Keyang Tipin hosted a pad drive in Pokot to collect menstrual products for girls. At Keyang Tipin Foundation, we are committed to raising menstrual health awareness, providing menstrual health products to girls and women in rural areas and empowering them to embrace menstruation while breaking stigma.
The community came together to donate pads and discuss issues surrounding menstruation. We were also joined by members of Polycom Girls who gratefully donated 500 pads! Thanks to our amazing donors we were able to raise over 1,000 menstrual hygiene products for 1,000 girls!
Together we can strive to reach our goal, to create a world where girls have access to menstrual health education and access to products.
Thank you!
Keyang Tipin Team.
